Reviews

INIRA – GRAY PAINTED GARDEN – ANOTHER SIDE
Candidly Italy-based Inira and its brand of music is not Metallian’s cup of tea. At Metallian Towers we like our metal pure, powerful and true to the precepts of heavy metal.
Inira is none of these things. The music is synthesized, ridden with clean chants and boy band backing vocals and the breakdowns show a disdain for riffs and strong chords. This type of music is likely inspired by wimp-out bands like Soilwork, Gojira and My Bloody Valentine. The band has merit in its own right, however, as the music could be dynamic and aggressive amidst the soft rock new-agey tranquil moments, the production is stellar and the guitarist can choose to insert a credible solo should he want to as on the track Discarded. The lead here is reminiscent of Nevermore. It is too bad that the youth is impressionable and these guys clone 1,000 other diluted modern bands. – Ali “The Metallian”
