History & Biography In-sight was formed somewhere in Northern Italy as early as 1998. The group was inspired by Swedish death metal, but grew more melodic overtime. The band sporadically issued several demos, including The Experiment in 2002, Infection Of Mind in 2004 and Endorsed By Hate in 2007, before recording a full-length for Logic(il)logic in 2012. By this time only drummer Mek was left over from the original line-up. The group played in Latvia in 2014. The group was on hiatus between 2014 and 2017. The band was back to releasing demos with 2019's Enlightened By Shadows. The Best Of In-Sight was also released independently in 2022.
Singer Emanuela left and singer Andrea Pecora died in 2022. Alessandro Marino took over the microphone in 2020. The entire line-up, except for drummer Mek, had also left (again) in 2020. Mek himself became a member of Wicked Wave in 2022. Aside from singer Marino, new members were guitarists Michele Lupo and Marco Gilardoni (Wicked Wave) and bassist Giovanni Raddi. The band opened for Necrodeath in 2023. The band Wicked Wave, and others, announced a 2025 show.
Reviews IN-SIGHT - FROM THE DEPTHS - LOGIC(IL)LOGIC
Apparently this Italian band started out as death metal band. On this, the group’s debut through a label, the band is more about modernism, Deadlock and Soilwork than about death metal. After a meaningless intro, the group’s songs are thrashy, melodic, soft or harsh with the main peculiarity being the male/female vocal trade-offs. Both singers are equally present. Andrea is harsh and angry, while Emanuela is urgent and emotional. Neither is a particularly good singer. If I liked female backing vocals I would say Emanuela needs to dedicate herself to backing vocals. Her weakness becomes apparent when she solos without backup like the start of Rary. For The Sake Of Show is probably the hardest song. The guitar is thick and harsh and occasionally in the same rhythm world as Iced Earth. The drum might be part real and part machine especially in moments like the aforementioned intro. The songs right now are as so-so as the vocals, the group needs to focus in one direction and push the envelope there. - Anna Tergel
