History & Biography
Mühlhausen-based heavy metal band Irony was formed in 1999 by drummer Billeb, but only issued an independent CD called Release The Beast in 2001 which featured singer Mehmet Bulut. A Three-song promo demo arrived in 2005 by which time the band had undergone numerous line-up changes. Ruhnow was also inducted into the recording/touring line-up of Fellow Germans Domain in the summer of 2007. IronyY signed a deal with Sleaszy Rider Records in October of 2007. The band’s album In The Beginning Of... Echoes From The Past was planned for the winter of 2007. The label went broke and nothing happened. The recording was eventually self-released in 2010. The band split up and reformed in 2018. Nicolaj Ruhnow was back. Matthias Aulenbacher (ex-Graveyard) was the new drummer. Jörg "Hawk" Billeb had died in 2015. The band had organized shows called Hawkfest in his memory.

Black For More was a 2019 demo. A couple of members kicked off My Own Black in 2021.

Tokyo Blade lost singer Chris Gillen after a mere eight months in the summer of 2010 and recruited Nicolaj “Nick” Ruhnow of Irony, Domain and Hellfort.
