History & Biography The band was founded by Simon Larsen and Andre Krekling in 2005 and quickly released a self-titled demo. Members had come from a more melodic band called Endymion. Bassist Arne Aalstad died in a car accident. Northern Twilight was the 2006 demo. The third demo was called Shades Of Misery and was given the rerelease whirl by Indie Recordings. Bassist Rene Zonneveld and guitarist Espen Solstad joined as concert musicians in 2007 and 2008 respectively. They stayed until 2011. Revelations Of Reckoning Day was released in the autumn of 2008. Norwegian Viking/thrash metal band Iskald released an album, called Nedom Og Nord ('Down And North') through Indie Recordings on January 14th 2013. The band was booked for a European tour with Kampfar and Hate in the spring of 2014.
The next album arrived in 2018. Innhøstinga translated into 'Harvest.' The release was supported through videos for the songs Lysene Som Forsvant and The Atrocious Horror. Iskald was about to embark on a European tour with Horna and Blaze Of Perdition when it was forced to change a venue in Saint-Etienne, France after the promoter disappeared with the pre-sale money. Bassist Emanuel Salgado left after staying for a mere two years.
Norway-based black metal band Iskald had an album called Curse Of The Mind, which was a concept record. It was available through Dusktone on 25.09.2026. According to the band, "Built as a conceptual journey, Curse Of The Mind unfolds through four interconnected chapters linked by ritualistic invocations, exploring themes of psychological torment, inner conflict, fragile hope and ultimate sacrifice. Framed within a stark, Norse-inspired vision of Helheim." The band had an autumn concert playing its debut and latest albums in its entirety, but owing to the severe illness of Aage Krekling, the show was postponed.
'Iskald' translates into 'Icy Cold' in English.
