History & Biography
Kaledon was founded in Roma, Italy in 1998. The band became prolific in the fantasy genre and only paused due to the pandemic. Singer Marco Palazzi had also left in 2014. From the start obvious reference points were Stratovarius and Rhapsody Of Fire. Drummer David Folchitto would be in and out of the band as he would go on to become one of those Ubers of the drum world.

The band started its habit of serialisation with the Spirit Of The Dragon I demo of 1999, which was followed by Spirit Of The Dragon II. These shared tracks and included the song In Search Of Kaledon. The next two demos, God Says Yes I and II, shared tracks again.

Italy’s own Steelborn lent a hand to the band to launch its great serialisation next. Legend Of The Forgotten Reign - Chapter I: The Destruction was released in 2002 and yielded half a dozen sequels and spinoffs. The early records featured Claudio Conti on vocals. Jörg Michael was guest drummer on Chapter 3.

The act was filming its 10th-anniversary concert at Stazione Birra in Morena, Italy on October 30th 2008. It was to include Queen’s We Will Rock You. This would be called Roaming In The Land: Ten Years Later. Mightiest Hits of 2012 was a self-cover version album recording tracks from earlier albums with the new line-up. A new track was included. The band recruited keyboardist Paolo Campitelli in 2013. He was also a sound engineer. The band issued Altor: The King's Blacksmith through Scarlet Records. Kaledon was delving into individual stories of its ‘Legend’ characters. The act opened on tour for Rhapsody. The band also toured with Hostile and Lordi in the UK and Ireland. The band and Hostile toured together again in 2016. Kaledon had a new album called Carnagus - Emperor Of The Darkness in 2017. This featured singer Michele Guaitoli.

The band had its Legend Of The Forgotten Reign - Chapter VII: Evil Awakens out through Beyond The Storm Productions in mid-2022. Kaledon was revisiting its saga. Italy-based pomp band Kaledon brought back former members singer Marco Palazzi and drummer David Folchitto in 2023. Founding guitarist Tommaso Nemesio left in 2023. New in the line-up, however, was guitarist Francesco Ciancio.

Alex Mele’s solo act featured most active members. Caledonia was the name given to Scotland by the Roman Empire.
