The band was a one-man project of Anthony Assaker upon formation 1999 and was called Chaotaeon, which roughly means 'devil' in Arabic. The band was exposed to the civil and religious authorities and changed its name however.

A demo called Provenance Of Hatred was out in 2004. The band featured Necrophagist/Disavowed/Arsebreed drummer Romain Goulon in 2005. The 2008 digital song Anthem Of The Dead addressed the band’s homeland.

Lebanese death metal band Kaoteon signed a deal with Osmose Productions in late 2010. The band's full-length debut, Veni Vidi Vomui ('I came, I saw, I vomited'), was recorded in Beirut and mastered by Dan Swanö. It was expected in February. Ziad left in 2014. It was only in 2018 when a demo called Damnatio Memoriae was released. Anthony had a new project called Death Tribe. The Beyond Pain And Pleasure: A Desert Experiment demo was out in early 2019 month and featured drummer Mattias Landes (Dark Fortress) and bassist Linus Klausenitzer (Obscura). A self-titled demo was issued in 2020.
