History & Biography
Former Slayer guitarist announced his band and album’s name in February 2024. The band, albeit nameless at that stage, was founded in 2019 following Slayer’s dissolution. Kerry King would release a debut album called From Hell I Rise through Reigning Phoenix Music in May. The band included singer Mark Osegueda (Death Angel), guitarist Phil Demmel (Vio-lence and ex-Machine Head) on lead guitar, bassist Kyle Sanders (Hellyeah) and drummer Paul Bostaph (Slayer). Aside from Bostaph, the line-up had been kept a secret. Kerry King was booked for Poland’s Mystic Festival. In what was like a reunion, Lamb Of God and Mastodon were co-headlining the Ashes Of Leviathan tour of North America in the summer of 2024. Kerry King and Malevolence were opening. As widely predicted, and despite the members’, and their spouses’, promises, Slayer reformed at the same time for a “few shows” to start. Kerry King, Avenged Sevenfold, Pantera, Machine Head, Corey Taylor, Biohazard, Fear Factory, Dying Fetus, The Black Dahlia Murder and a bunch of mallcore and rap bands were announced for Download 2024 in the UK.
