History & Biography
Florence’s Kiju was formed in 1997and recorded a demo called Hook My Neurons two years later. The group soon signed with Metal Age and issued its debut in 2002. The band has been infleucned by the likes of Machine Head and makes no attempt at making it either.

KIJU had a new demo in 2010. It was called Ignite The Revolt. The band did play concerts up until 2017 and then took several years off. It returned looking for a drummer in 2022. A new man was found in late 2023.

Reviews

KIJU - NOTHING TO PLAY FOR - METAL AGE
The band has written in to let this writer know how much the Italian press loves Nothing To Play For. Several magazines and webzines have apparently given the band high marks, an achievement the band hopes to repeat internationally. If marks are given for riff, rhythm, tightness and sound Kiju unquestionably deserves the accolades. However if marks could be deducted for originality, Kiju would be reduced to a below average band. Nary a song does not betray the band's influences. Every track on the album is fashioned after Pantera, Prong, Machine Head or Fear Factory. The band does what it does well, but it is not doing anything that its American inspirations have not precisely done before. Kiju sounds like a former thrash metal band that has become enamoured with the aforementioned bands and embraced and adopted every little nuance it possibly could. - Ali "The Metallian"
