History & Biography
Bollnäs-based black/thrash metal band Korp was actually formed as Nocturnal in 1994 before changing its name to Demogorgon and eventually to Korp a year later after finding yet another band had already used up the monicker. The band had gone through several members and three demos under its earlier monickers, but issued a demo called Utvald in 1997 under the name Korp.

Two albums followed, but success eluded the black metal act. Cauldron Of Fire was a 2017 demo. Until Eternity Calls was a 2021 compilation with both unreleased and demo material from the 1990s. This is why the title was shared with a 1997 demo. The group disbanded in 2009. The return was 2017, Tomas Rosenborg (previously Tomas Ljung when in Nocturnal) was the new bassist as of 2024. Pyres Of A Dying Sun was a 2024 demo. Feast Upon The Spineless was the 2025 demo. The group announced a 2025 gig with Blackened Path and HellGoat. The group was simultaneously working on a full-length The band's third album, And Darker It Shall Become was announced for Grind To Death Records for September 5th. There was a video for the song Furious Tempest Rise.

Korp is 'raven' in Swedish.
