Reviews

KORPIUS - SHADES OF BLACK - MAPLE METAL
It is very ironic that the title of this disc is Shades Of Black because there are no shades here outside the darkness of death metal. The Canadian death metallers (aha 'maple' metal) pound song after song of underground, dark and merciless death metal with vocals of Philippe and Maxime that divide the high and low end. Another redeeming feature is the guitar leads that pop in and out. These make Awaking Terror and Disillusion stand out with their precise and impressive soloing. Other recommended track: The Final Charge. The band is not shattering the limits of originality, but that we at Metallian consider a plus. - Anna Tergel
