History & Biography Krank was a Philadelphia-based heavy metal band that was formed in the summer of 1981. The quartet's image was reminiscent of bands like Lizzy Borden. The band played a repertoire of cover versions of acts like Judas Priest, Iron Maiden and AC/DC at first. The group relocated to Los Angeles. The song Rented Heat was on Metal Massacre VII. The group issued an album through Metal Blade on September 3rd 1986, but split up a year later although the dissolution year is 1989 officially.
The band reformed for a while in 1995 and again in 2002. A full-length independent demo was issued in 2003 dubbed Ugly Gift. The theme continued when Retrospect not only rereleased the debut, but also issued a new record called Ugly Right To The Bone in 2010. No touring with Ugly Kid Joe ensued.
