History & Biography Gabriel Hugo put Lascar together in 2013. The self-titled demo was released in early 2014. The Depths demo of 2015 was also distributed by Inductive Oppression Records. The Absence demo of 2016 was similarly distributed by several small imprints. Ditto for Saudade in 2017. Next up were demos called Cryptospores and Wildlife in 2018. The man issued an instrumental self-cover version compilation called Full Instrumentals in late 2018.
An album emerged in 2020. Perhaps taking inspiration from American culture, the act uploaded a song called Nip The Buds, Shoot The Kids in 2021. The follow-up appeared in 2022. Cryptospores & Palynomorphs was a compilation through Tragedy Productions in 2022.
Chile-based Voidmilker, a new side-project of Gabriel Hugo of Lascar, had a debut album called Labyrinthical through Tragedy Productions on July 7th 2023. The act was compared to Ante-Inferno.
Lascar is the name of an active volcano in the Chilean Andes.
