History & Biography
Liar was a Dortmund, Germany-based speed metal band, albeit with keyboards, that spoke truth to power. A 1988 demo was called Nothing Is Impossible. The band was formed in 1988 and quickly signed to Century Media. The label’s owner was also friendly with the German magazine Rock Hard and hence the label’s first release for the band was a split single with Poltergeist. The band’s friendship with that label’s owner was not enough to keep the two together and Cheatin’ Games was issued by TRL. This one was taped by Heimi Mikus of Faithful Breath/Risk. NoLifeTilMetal Records rereleased the debut album in 2024.
