History & Biography Lloth was an all-girl band between 1995 and 1997 before changing its name to Astarte. The latter band ended its tenure in 2014 and a bunch of new members became Lloth again. The sole remaining member was bassist and singer Tristessa who succumbed to leukemia and died in 2014. Much earlier in 2005, Tristessa won a court dispute that had begun nearly two years previously by her old band-mate Kinthia, regarding the official ownership of Astarte's name and logo. The court case was started after Astarte went through a drastic line-up change before the Sirens album was written and recorded.
With new and unrelated musicians retrieving the 'Lloth' monicker and performing as of 2013, Tristessa's illness and subsequent death did not deter the gang and this band named Lloth released music. The band's new logo incorporated a 'T' in its logo to commemorate Tristessa. The band featuring Tristessa's former husband Nicolas Sic Maiis released its debut album in 2017. To confuse folks even more, Astate itself released Dancing In The Dark Lakes Of Evil - The Lloth Years, a 1997 demo of material, in 2021.
Theogonia Records signed Greece-based Lloth. The act’s second full-length album, Archees Legeones (Ancient Legions), was released on May 9th 2025. Guitarist Vaelor was still there from the debut's line-up, but the membership had again undergone an upheaval. Denmark-based Sunken would embark on a tour of Europe with Iffernet, Friisk, Ultima Necat, Nyrst and Loth at the end of the year 2025.
