History & Biography
The Sweden-based progressive band was founded by drummer Teddy Möller, after the end of his previous progressive metal band Mayadome, in 2000 and released a demo, entitled Promo 2002, two years later. Bassist Eric Grandin had also come over from Mayadome. A couple of band-mates were along for the ride and Teddy switched to the microphone and guitar. The demo songs appeared on Dark Logic, which CD-Maximum of Russia licensed. The CD was inspired by serial killers. The act appeared at Headway Festival to which they would return four years later. Sebastian Okupski was replaced by Andreas Lindahl of Platitude, but the new man left citing the distance between his base and the rest of the group. The band was managed by Claus Jensen of Intromental at this time. The title for Destruction Time Again! made little sense. After all, unless the members were going to see a Destruction gig, had destruction already happened there would be no place to record and release an album. The band toured Scandinavia as support for King Diamond after Iceland on August 25th and 26th 2007 opening for Rotting Christ. The band’s third album, Reveal No Secrets, was on a third label. The act had signed to ViciSolum for three albums and played a short tour with Helstar. The tour was cut short when the band’s bus broke down with a replacement part being weeks away. This album went Alex Jones and unleashed the conspiracy theories. Then again the lyrics spoke of “Misguided bastards.” Dystopium was on ViciSolum. It was due in late 2010 originally. The Swedes toured with Therion and Leprous. The band toured with Leprous and Ørkenkjøtt two years later in 2012. Tomas "Tym" Jonsson had left prior due to a herniated spine mid-tour and, at first, temporarily replaced by Jimmy Mattsson. Thomas Ohlsson of F.K.Ü was briefly in the band, but instead drummer Lawrence Dinamarca was drafted after the former’s cameo. From These Waters was supported through a video clip for the song From These Waters. Strife had the video for Purpose supporting it. The group appeared at Metal Over Malta Festival 2017. The band re-signed with its label. Manticora, Loch Vostok and Hexed toured Europe in 2019. Hexed featured Teddy’s sister, Tina Gunnarsson, and had Teddy as a member between 2015 and 2019..

Opus Ferox - The Great Escape came in the summer of 2021. Jonas Radehorn was on lead vocals since 2019. The band announced a tour with Orphaned Land. Drummer Teddy Möller of Loch Vostok sessioned for Farsoth on that band’s Morbid Symphonies album in 2023. Sweden-based Loch Vostok had a 2024 video for the track Children Of Science, which was taken from the Opus Ferox II - Mark Of The Beast album. In advance of the record, the band was billed for Næstved Metalfest 2024 in Denmark and Metal Gates Festival 2024 in Romania.

Lake Vostok is a subterranean lake in Antarctica. Teddy Möller drifts from act to guest spot to live member monthly.
