History & Biography Metal couldn't leave one place alone. The plague had to extend to the peaceful French island of Reunion. In the name of Jebus, why couldn't metal leave a corner of this mortal coil serene and blessed?
Lomor was founded as a thrash metal band in 2018 after the death of his cousin and brother, both former band-mates in his earlier project, Black Babouk. The two early members had a gig playing Slayer cover tunes. Bassist Micha joined in 2020. A demo, called Perseverance Of Sickness, emerged in 2022. The band opened for Mass Hysteria at a local Tattoo Convention. A mini-tour of seven gigs in France was called the Kanyar Tour in 2023. Reunion Island-based thrash metal band Lomor had a full‑length album, entitled Sabouk Rouge, through Rockshots Records. Lomor had a new music video for the title track. The track Kit Ta Mère was a rerecording, according to the band. The album addressed the history of slavery, which was a part of the reality of Reunion island. The 'sabouk' was the name for a whip used against slaves.
In Creole, 'lo mors' means 'the deads.' The band called itself "creole thrash old‑school stuff."
