History & Biography
Hailing from Martin, the Slovak band was formed by Mortis (vocals), Hirax (guitars), Psycho (drums), and keyboardist King in 1994 and specialized in complex atmospheric metal with many twists. Members had been in the grindcore act Bestialit since 1993 prior to Lunatic Gods. Italy's Polyphemus Records signed the band and released its debut album. The band reported this made it the first Slovak band with a foreign record deal. The members were calling their style 'lunatic metal' now. Nonetheless, the group recalled spurning the Italian label, which wanted to re-sign the band for two more albums, and signing with a Slovak label instead, The band appeared on a Metallica covers' CD with the song Phantom Lord. Singer Mortis and keyboardist King left in 2000. Singer Horar Of Protest was recruited. The man died in 2007. In the meantime, the band opened for King Diamond and Vader separately in 2001. The group also appeared at Metal Universe Black Sun Festival in 2007.

The band issued a demo, called Slnovraty, in 2014. The group appeared at Made Of Metal 2014. A follow-up demo was 2018's Turiec. A new album emerged at the end of 2023. It was called Vresovrenie. Keyboardist Mária Onofrejová aka Majica decided to leave the band in 2025. She was to be present on the occasional studio session as a guest. She was replaced by Martin 'Marthus' Skaroupka (Cradle Of Filth, Pandemia, etc.) who also drummed.

With keyboards, saxophone and more, the band was obviously not trying to stay in metal fans' good graces. Hrom was the imprint of the band's former guitarist, Hirax., who departed from the fold in 2013
