History & Biography Uxbridge, London’s own Lyadrive was formed in 1981 as a NWOBHM band and disbanded four years later. The group had signed with Brickyard Records, but threw in the towel upon said label’s receivership. The band issued a single called Anytime on the Bridge label during this period, which featured guitarist Jones and bassist O’Leary. Lyadrive was also heard on Ebony Records’ Metal Warriors compilation. The act disbanded in 1985.
The group reappeared in 1995 however and began issuing albums. Another Time, Another Place featured three songs stemming from 1984 that were originally destined for a single, but most tracks were rerecordings otherwise. This was originally supposed to be on Vinyl Tap before that label's financial difficulties, and bankruptcy, had the band on the phone with HTD Records, which itself went out of business a mere two years later. The group also issued a compilation of its '80s' material, dubbed The Sands Of Time (Sessions 82/83) in 2008, before issuing a second full-length again featuring a compilation of material. This 2008 disc was called Post Millennium Blues. The band also appeared at the British Steel 3 festival at the Camden Underworld in London. The most recent disbandment arrived in 2016.
