History & Biography Andreas Denz founded the Bochum-based band in 2008 and opted to not become a model for productivity. The early singer was Chilean Bruno Vargas Scheihing. Bassist Tobias was the last to join. A demo did arrive in 2010. Another demo followed in 2014. The band released an album, entitled Prisoner, in 2018. Sven Drewinske replaced Fabius Farkas. Germany-based hard rock band Lyra's Legacy recruited drummer Hartmut Stoof to replace Sven Drewinske in 2026.
Lyra's Legacy refers to the lyre/Lyra, a traditional symbol of poets, thinkers and the connection between poetry and music. The band chose the name because it reflects a focus on thoughtful music and lyrics and because they felt it had an atmospheric and memorable sound.
