History & Biography
The act was founded in 1987. John Fenton, who would later be heard in Solus, was on vocals. M.A.D. hailed from Ontario in central Canada, issued a demo called Decisions (as Mutually Assured Destruction) in 1988, Generation Zero in 1989 and soon signed with Fringe Product (Disciples Of Power, Razor, Sacrifice, etc.) of Toronto for its sole album. The debut featured many of the demo songs. The full-length was recorded at Umbrella Sound. Its cover seemed to be inspired by Easter Island, potato chips and a lack of a budget. Jeff McFadden exited and was replaced by Mike Krestel who would appear in Burn To Black later.

The group changed its name to The MAD and issued an album called Songs For The Ugly in 1993 on Epidemic Records. The MAD also issued a 7" single, entitled Albino, that same year on the Devil Doll label.
