History & Biography
The solo studio-only act of Ovfrost came together in 2017. The first release was recorded in 2018 and released in 2019. Karst Relict featured drums by drummer Daniil Oplachkin. As I Become Darkness was partly influenced by Russia’s invasion of Ukraine and was against the war. Avantgarde was releasing Malist’s Of Scorched Earth in 2024. This one featured a girl playing synthesizers (Duran Duran, Pet Shop Boys, Aqua and Coldplay). Crimson Crown was another solo act by the main man next.

Rustam became the bassist in late 2024 and Mikhail became the drummer. There was Sergey on clean vocals.

Malist issued an album called Eternal Echo Of The Fall through Flowing Downward on June 12th 2026. It was described by the publicity as, "rooted in the best atmospheric black metal imprint, although experimenting with post-metal passages and modern-oriented melodic approaches. " It was lyrically inspired by Tolkien's masterpiece and the members were wearing masks. The band had a full line-up now and a video for the song Eternal Echo.

A malist is someone who believes the world is evil.
