History & Biography
Maltese Falcon was a Danish black heavy metal band that was formed in 1983 and by the time of its disbandment in 1986 had issued an album and five demos. The group was heard with a performance on Danish radio in 1984. Two of the demos arrived after the group’s only album, which was issued by a pre-wimp out Roadrunner Records. The band appeared at a show called Heavy Invasion with Rigor Mortis and Kim Sixx in the spring of 1985. The band used Carmina Burana to kick off its show, a piece that was used by fellow Danes Pretty Maids as an intro to its debut full-length. Drummer Stig left the group after the album and was replaced by Bruce Flemming. Patino appeared on several albums most notably King Diamond’s Them and Conspiracy as well as The Puppet Master and Give Me Your Soul... Please.

Maltese Falcon was a novel by Dashiell Hammett, which in 1941 became a film starring Humphrey Bogart.
