History & Biography
Malteze was a pure heavy metal band based out of Los Angeles that was formed in 1985 around the 17-year old New Yorker Barbara. The band’s initial line-up featured Bryant Simpson on bass and Steve Swartout on drums. The members had connected via local classified advertisements. A vinyl EP called We Came 2 Rock lead to a deal with Active Records. Ms. Malteze would go to Texas and continue on with The Dust Devils after a stint at The Berklee College of Music. Malteze broke up while recording its second album due to a disagreement on direction among the members and the band’s manager JP allegedly being hooked on drugs while producing the band.

Valhalla featured Max Kobayakawa formerly of 44 Magnum.
