History & Biography
The band was founded in the port of Kotka by the Gulf Of Finland in 2013. A demo called Marianas Rest appeared in 2013. Marianas Rest’s Horror Vacui album was issued in November 2016 through Sliptrick Records. The band was described as “melancholic death metal.” The band had an album release show at Sam’s Pub on October 22nd. The second album was on Inverse Records. The third album was on Napalm Records. The band was touring with Dark Tranquillity, Ensiferum, Gwendydd and others in 2022.

Auer is Finnish for 'haze' and was the name of a 2023 album in March. There were several video clips for the album. The group was booked for Nummirock in 2024 and Dark River Festival in 2024 both of which were in Finland. Aeonian Sorrow, Marianas Rest and For The Storms organised a tour for late 2024. The band announced it had signed with the German label Noble Demon in the summer of 2025. Death/doom band Marianas Rest announced an album called The Bereaved for early January of 2026.
