History & Biography
The d-beat oriented band came together in 2001. The members had been friends previously. Southern Lord announced a label tour package for June and July of 2012. The tour included Canada's Burning Love, Martyrdod making their debut U.S. appearance and others. Mainstream media was quick to jump on the band doing a cover version in 2014, in this case the song Under Skinnet by former punk rocker Kajsa Grytt. The group toured Europe with Converge in 2014. The band signed with Century Media in 2017. Rosenqvist switched to guitar from bass. Pontus left. Bassist Fredrik Reinedahl was replaced by Daniel Ekeroth in 2018. Sweden-based Martyrdöd was at Studio Fredman recording an album called Hexhammaren for Century Media in 2019. The band had several Swedish shows lined up. The group was booked for the postponed Black Mass festival, and could not make the rescheduled dates, so it played a concert with Craft instead. The group announced its participation for Summer Dying Loud in 2024.
