History & Biography
Snare and Dorey were school-mates and in 1981 moved from Pennsylvania to South Carolina. The band changed its name from Prophet to Maxx Warrior in 1982 for obvious reasons. The new name was inspired by The Mad Max movie The Road Warrior. Born in South Carolina these warriors issued one EP through US Metal Records before going the way of Grendel. The mini LP received a fair amount of publicity upon release. The group disbanded and only re-emerged for a one-off concert in 1987. Apparently, Snare wanted to pursue a more melodic direction than the rest of the warriors. Snare and Richardson joined Charlotte hard rockers, Firehouse.

Maxx Warrior, whose members later formed Firehouse, was to reform for one show on January 7th, 2012 at the Lincoln Theatre in Raleigh, North Carolina. Richardson joined Stryper in 2017 and was part of a manufactured Frontiers Records’ band Cleanbreak in 2022.
