History & Biography Mental Crypt hailed from Karlstad in Sweden and was formed in 1993. Blappan sang and played bass at this point. Hugo joined in the summer of 1994 and in time for the second demo. The band issued three demos, Black Hole, Aimless and Sects Of Doom before becoming one of the last signees of the floundering Black Mark Production. Black Mark had earlier placed the band on the Out Of The Box compilation with the song Genocide. Following the 1998 album, the band issued another demo, called Ground Zero.
Four members, including Blappan, ended up in the black metal band Loss. The band had played with groups like Godgory, Vomitory and Morgana Lefay. Janson was in Grave Flowers with two Godgory members.
