History & Biography The act was founded in 2018. Demo 2021 was recorded in 2020 and distributed by Everlasting Spew Records. USA-based Metaphobic had an album called Deranged Excruciations through Everlasting Spew Records on 28 February 2025. The band was compared to early Gorguts and Demilich.

Want to relive the death metal of the 1990s? Old school death metal has a new proponent. Certainly Cryptopsy, with heavier and deeper vocals, come to mind, but like Incantation, which has both doomier moments and accelerates its speedier moments, Metaphobic is a more complex group with the occasional Morbid Angel drumming. The band is also compared to Demilich, which makes sense since the drawn-out notes with lucid metal guitar crescendos coupled with mysterious melodic riffs are Fin-death at its best. The core of Metaphobic remains Roadracer death metal with hog deep vocals however. That is early Gorguts.
Spectral Circle sets the speedy brutal tone. Mental Deconstruction begins with a doom/death segment and a guitar lick reminiscent of Entombed's Left Hand Path. The bass can be heard here. There is also the oddball riff like on Execration that injects a change of pattern. Reconstituted Gray Matter features a dynamic riff in its middle and end.
Longer songs, including one clocking in at nine minutes, are not unusual on this disc. The album enjoys a good sound with the synthetic cymbals' sound being an exception.
