History & Biography The band was founded by school-mates Meliah Rage’s Anthony Nichols and Jon Hardy in 2012, but was heard through a demo called The Late Heavy Bombardment in 2014. The group obtained a deal, but the next record was released no earlier than 2020. Founding guitarist Anthony Nichols suffered a wrist injury and was told he would never play guitar again before the last album. Yet, he continued following surgery and rehabilitation. Regardless, the album Survival Cannibalism was inspired by a ship from the 1700s called Nottingham Galley, which had crashed in New England with the crew having to resort to cannibalism. Burn Pit was a 2022 EP through 10-31.
USA-based thrash metal band Mexican Ape-Lord’s full-length was available through 10-31 Records on May 10th 2024.
The band has called its music Mountain Metal. The monicker is inspired by the Mexican primates, which are reportedly some of the loudest on the planet and live in the rainforest.
