History & Biography Guitarist Michael Schinkel's act might have the annoying occurrence of being confused with Michael Schenker, but his main influence is Yngwie Malmsteen, rather than his rocking compatriot. The man has been active under other names since the 1980s, but the current monicker and identification was activated in 2012 when the man stood up his project again.
This incarnation signed with ROAR and released an album, called Smoke On The Mountain, in 2018. Michael Schinkel handled guitar and vocals. Germany-based neoclassical heavy metal band Michael Schinkel's Eternal Flame, signed a multi-album deal with ROAR! Rock Of Angels Records. Michael Schinkel's Eternal Flame’s third album (counting the Eternal Flame albums) Smoke On The Mountain included 13 tracks and was out on May 18th 2018. Smoke On The Mountain featured Mark Boals (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen and Ring Of Fire) and Göran Edman (ex-Yngwie Malmsteen and John Norum) on vocals. Timothy Touchton supplied production and lyrics. Unlike his Swedish rival, Schinkel himself had an acceptable vocal capability. Gravitation was supported through a billing at the Rock N' Loc and Metal Is Forever festivals in 2022. The band, however, canceled a few concerts due to illness.
Germany-based neoclassical metal band Michael Schinkel's Eternal Flame had an album called Man Or God through Fastball Music in the autumn of 2026.
