History & Biography
Doom band Monolord was founded in 2013 and released an album in 2014. The group consisted of singer and guitarist Thomas Jäger, bassist Mika Häkki and drummer Esben Willems. Thomas and Esben were from the band Marulk and considered Monolord a side-project at first. There was a video clip for the song Empress Rising. A single called Cursing The One in 2015 was sold during the band's European tour with Salem's Pot. Vænir was on the same label as before, but the company had changed its name. Ufomammut Monolord were to tour Australia in 2016. Conan and Monolord were in Europe in 2018. The band and Kadaver announced a European tour for late 2018.

The band moved to Relapse Records for the release of No Comfort. Mika Häkki's former band Rotten Sound had been on Relapse. Monolord and Blackwater Holylight were to tour Europe in 2021 having done so in the USA in 2019. The band and Firebreather and then Monolord and Dorthia Cottrell were touring the USA in 2022. It's All The Same was a 2023 single. Per Wiberg (ex-Candlemass and Opeth) was the live keyboardist soon. The band was invited to Desertfest Oslo and London in 2023. Desertfest Ghent had billed the band in 2022. Otherwise, the band's line-up had remained stable. Stoner doom metal band Monolord was supporting its Neverending album through a headlining US and a European tour in 2026.
