History & Biography
A death metal band from Austria, Monument Of Misanthropy was founded in 2010 and released a two-song demo called Bandroom Misanthropy in 2012. Drum nomad Romain Goulon was with the band from 2012 to 2018. Anger Mismanagement was the 2014 full-length demo. It was supported through a video for the song Vegan Homicide. The gang was touring Europe with Suffocation and Cattle Decapitation in 2016. Another play on words came only three years later in the form of the Capital Punisher demo of 2017. Comings and goings had been normal with this group and then guitarist and bassist Jean-Pierre Battesti (in the band since 2012) and founder George "Misanthrope" Wilfinger fired each other and claimed ownership of the band. The former became the leader of Arborescence Of Wrath in 2019 and would eventually sign to Transcending Obscurity Records. In the meantime, the band and immolation toured Europe in 2017 (with Vader), 2018 and 2019. Speaking of which, Monument Of Misanthropy's album was released in 2021. The Unterweger album was about Austrian serial killer Johann "Jack" Unterweger who had hung himself eventually. The album was supported through a video for the song The Legacy Of A Malignant Monster. Serial Roadkill UK Tour 2022 had Visions Of Disfigurement and Cuttered Flesh as openers.

The band was booked for Transcending Obscurity Fest 2023 where De Profundis was also billed. Kraanium’s The European Defilement tour was to occur in December 2023 and feature Brutal Sphincter and Monument Of Misanthropy as openers on select dates. A new album was 2024's Vile Postmortem Irrumatio. This album was about serial killer Ed Kemper. There was a video for the song A Nice Beheading For MoM. Among the new Lyft drivers was guitarist Julius Kössler and bassist Raphael Hendlmayer. Session drummer was Eugene Ryabchenko himself in half a dozen acts. Belphegor, Malevolent Creation and Monument Of Misanthropy announced a European tour for the summer.

. Listenable Records signed Monument Of Misanthropy to a multi-album deal in 2024.

The group was founded as a solo project by singer Georg Wilfinger (ex-Miasma) in 2010. George had written a song called Monument Of Misanthropy for his previous band Destination Void. Per modern edicts, every release features guests. Elsewhere, Chile-based Pulverized issued an album called Monuments Of Misanthropy in 2018. Further north, Colombia's Antheology did the same, but in 2021.
