History & Biography
Ricardo Santos and Dinis Costa formed the band on the remote island of Azores (in São Miguel) as early as September of 1990. It began thrashing in Portugal before morphing into a death metal act, which wimped out and introduced goth to its repertoire. In the interim, members came, members went and Nomad was the 1993 and debut demo. Shameless Faith was the 1995 demo. Metamorphic Reaction was a 2010 demo. Morbid Death signed with Art Gates Records in 2019. A new album was expected in 2020. Rui Frias was on drums. Morbid death released its new album, Oxygen, through Art Gates coinciding with its 30th anniversary as a band. Santos was a co-founder of thrash metal band Torn Fabriks as of 2020.

The band went on hold in 2024, but returned soon enough albeit with three new members. The 2026 release Veil Of Ashes landed on through Firecum Records/Museu Do Heavy Metal Açoriano on CD and LP, on 13.03.2026. Pedro Sousa was on drums. Helder Pinheiro and João Raposo were on guitar.
