History & Biography Morbius was a gore black metal band out of Virginia, which was formed in 1990. A 1992 demo, called The Shades Below, followed the Realm demo of 1991. Realm was recorded as a rehearsal initially and went unreleased until the new version. Last World re-released the 1992 album The Shades Below, which was released by With Your Teeth Records initially. With Your Teeth was co-owned by King of Deceased. Last World belonged to Paul Folk of Exterminance. The band switched to Cyber for the next album. Sojourns Through The Septiac was issued in 2000 and re-released in 2005. Nick Mertaugh of Grand Belial's Key and Arghoslent was on guitar during 1996. The group split up after the 2006 demo
Inevitably, the band regrouped in 2014. Trismegistus had been a 2012 compilation. Jason Weir was back. Mike Bossier, formerly of Oblivion, was on guitar. He would join Snipers of Babel later. The band’s third record was re-issued in 2018.
Morbius is a Marvel Comics’ villain.
