History & Biography One of a couple of Morgartens running around the Central European nation of Switzerland, this Morgarten has been around since 2005 playing folk metal. The group played its first show in 2016. Swiss time was in no hurry when the band issued its demo in 2015. It was called Risen To Fight. The band played shows including opening for Finntroll. Inner Wound Recordings of Sweden heard from the group’s booking agency, signed the band and issued Cry Of The Lost in 2021. It was recorded in 2020 and was again a concept. The band issued a video for the song The Last Breath, which featured clean vocals. The band was booked for Brainstorm festival in autumn 2021. The band had played there in 2015.
The band organized its own Morgarten Fest (because every concert in the world is a 'fest'), which was a boat cruise, in 2023. The act also travelled to Norway. The band was booked for Harnbarg Metalfest for 2024.
The group is named after the Morgarten battle of 1315 where the Swiss fought off the Austrians.
