History & Biography
The Finnish band was formed in 1993 as Häiriö before changing its name to ‘Children Of The Black Moon’ two years later. The band would split up in 2007 before coming back. The inaugural 1996 demo was called ...Kunnes Loppuu Yö. 1996 delivered Varjomaa. 1998 brought Prologi. Nocturanla Music issued the split with Azaghal in the year 2000.

The Finnish label Northern Sound Records issued the band’s debut full-length in 2002. It was called Suruntuoja. It would be re-released three years later by Dies Irae Records. A 2005 song was called Lucifer & Rosemary and was notable for its English title even if the lyrics were still in Finnish. Roihu/Firebox delivered 2005’s Talvenranta. The folk influences were prevalent now. Yet another label delivered a full-length for the band in 2007. The group would split up, although a 2010 show was played at Lopunajan Festivaalit Turku and a compilation was released in 2011 inclusive of live and demo tracks. The band toured in 2014 and soon fired Hanninen from the line-up. The Finns played Finland’s Steelfest in 2014. A full-fledged reformation was announced for 2015. Lehtinen and Hautala had been the group’s mainstays. Mikko Hautala left in 2017. Suruaika was a 2023 EP through Inverse Records. The band announced a farewell in 2023. Two final concerts were booked for Tampere and Lahti, Finland for November 25. Ovet and Necropsy were opening in Lahti.
