Jönköping, Sweden-based Narnia is a white metal band founded in 1996. Singer Christian Liljegren and guitarist CJ Grimmark met in 1993 when the former was in Modest Attraction and CJ was in Sentinel. They stayed in touch. In 1996 when Modest Attraction released its second album Divine Luxury Liljegren called Grimmark and asked whether the latter man was interested in working together. CJ was interested. A few months later, as Modest Attraction guitarist Stephan Mohlin had to decline touring in Germany for personal reasons, Christian again phoned CJ and asked him to temporarily replace Stephan. This became a permanent gig when Stephan left permanently. In September 1996 the duo, and other Narnia members, entered Topz Recording Studio to record its debut album. Former Sentinel bassist Jakob Persson was a contributor. The monicker was inspired by the Christian fantasy The Chronicles Of Narnia.

At Short Notice... Live in Germany was a 2006 audio version of 2004’s DVD, which was recorded in Germany in 2003. The band toured with Rob Rock and Mortification in South America in 2006 as a white metal ensemble. A couple of members also served in Rob Rock’s band. Carl Johan Grimmark also joined Beautiful Sin. The band recorded a cover version of In His Majesty's Service by the Swedish band Jerusalem in 2007, which appeared on the group's 10th-anniversary compilation album, Decade Of Confession. Christian Rivel-Liljegren (founder of Rivel Records and Liljegren Records) left the band in 2008, but was back for the reformation. Narnia, Mad Max and Malta’s Forsaken were amongst the bands which were booked for the second edition of Brainstorm Festival in 2009. Course Of A Generation was issued on July 24th through Massacre Records. It was mixed by Fredrik Nordström and Henrik Udd at Studio Fredman. The band disbanded in 2010, but returned in 2014. Several farewell shows were performed in 2010. Sweden’s Liljegren Records issued a compilation album in 2013 called Metal For Jesus with Narnia, Audiovision, DivineFire and others. The band issued a self-titled full-length demo in 2016, which coincided with its twentieth anniversary.
