History & Biography The Sweden-based death metal band was formed in Everöd just south of Kristianstad in southern Sweden in 2003 featuring members of Das Über Evils. The 2004 demo was entitled Ovations To Putrefaction and was in fact recorded at the band’s rehearsal space. This demo was later re-issued by Yuki and his Deathrash Armageddon and also put on vinyl by Serpent Pulse Records. Blood Harvest of Sweden issued the EP Chants Of Grim Death. A split release with Corrupt on the same label lead to a full-length debut called Breed Deadness Blood in 2008. The bandswitched to Agonia and issued an eponymous disc in 2012. Anton left briefly, but was soon back anyway. The band has been using a second guitarist on stage. The band opened for Morbid Angel in Sweden in 2013.
Reviews NECROVATION - CHANTS OF GRIM DEATH - BLOOD HARVEST
This 7" EP is really good. This is the stuff that maims and kills. Swedish newcomers Necrovation - clever name - take the essence of the death metal underground from 1989 - 1991 and deliver with such confidence that one could easily believe the material hails from that era. There are four tracks here and one of which is yet another cover, this time of Merciless' Pure Hate from 1989. The music reminds me of early (or old!) Vomitory with its relentless beats, heavy reliance on speed and vocals with loads of echo. The beginning of the song Rigormortic Mind reaches back to Dark Angel's Burning Of Sodom. Order this piece of vinyl from Blood Harvest Records. To find out more about the band email sebastian.gadd@spray.se or visit www.necrovation.tk. - Ali "The Metallian"
