History & Biography
A hard and heavy doom band out of Sweden, Noctum ('Darkness' in Latin) was founded as Séance in 2009. High Roller and Stormspell issued an album called The Seance in 2010 after hearing the act's two-song demo. Comparisons to Mercyful Fate were made. The Fiddler EP of 2011 contained a cover version of a Pentagram song. The band toured Europe in 2011 (and later in 2012). Metal Blade picked the band up and with its usual amount of promotion and publicity prowess managed to make the title of Final Sacrifice come true. Either way, the second album featured guitarist Daniel Johansson and drummer Fredrik Jansson. It was a horror story from start to finish and had the band release a video for the song Temple Of The Living Dead. A single called Until Then...Until The End was a last gasp sign of life in 2015. The act disbanded after a Night Viper/Noctum tour of Europe in 2016. The band had also appeared at Roadburn.
