History & Biography
The dark alternative band was founded in 2022. Sabelli was the main composer. Instrumentation included pop, rock, Classical and folk music ones. All members were in a dozen or so projects. Obsessions was the immediate album featuring three tracks. Inside followed a year later. Aeternus was on drums here. Our came towards the end of 2024 and featured Sven Vinat/Aeternus on drums. The publicity called the act “depressive black metal poets.” The band was joined by guest vocalist Davide Straccione (Shores Of Null). There were no supportive activities next.

Notturno simply means ‘night’ in Italian. Having said that, a 2020 documentary by the same name by Gianfranco Rosi won an Oscar in 2021. It was also a song title on Prometheus (Symphonia Ignis Divinus) by Luca Turilli's Rhapsody in 2015. One band called Notturno Concertante had been active in Italy since the 1980s. An instrumental progressive band also called Notturno hailed from Italy as well and was founded in 2020.

NOTTURNO - OUR - HYPNOTIC DIRGE  
Resistance is futile it seems. All metal will devolve and eventually be replaced by weak sub-pop drivel ridden with inane softness and wimpy instrumentation such that it would put even the average music box enthusiast to sleep. Such is the music of ”'poetic black metal” act Notturno. The songs eventually get to a scream or wail, or whatever it is called, 20 minutes into a girl moaning to us about her feelings or something (sample lyrics: "I can't believe you anymore, Take me out from this dark room, I can't trust you anymore"), but, you tell me, if a minute of shrieking amidst a kilo of acoustic strumming, melodious lullabies, clarinet, piano, keyboards, and who cares what else, is what passes as “atmospheric and depressive black metal” nowadays. With that said, the press sheet comes with the standard issue brown-nosing, not just from neophytes to be sure, but from the usual fifth column wimps and posers of the so-called metal industry, press and veterans alike. The people who consider themselves metal fans and praise this, and those who actually believe for a moment that this crap is remotely metal, constitute a museum of retards, idiots, traitors or deaf people. You could call them nutturnos.
It is indeed depressive, that much is true, but perhaps they call it black metal because bands like this portend a black day for metal? - Ali “The Metallian”
