OUROBOROS - CRITICAL PERSPECTIVE - SNAKEBITE
Ouroboros is a harsh band with two types of vocals, a bad sound, that regardless cuts like a knife, grinding underground lunacy and more noise than a construction area. This band reminds one of General Surgery with added noise and the vocals of Mortician. Critical Perspective comes at the listener like a ton of bricks armed with deranged vocals, odd cymbals and more than a few effects. The band does take the time to slow down every so often, but no one will be picking up this CD for anything but a brutal musical bloodbath. The songs are mostly in the two or three-minute grindcore range, although the last song Somnium is an 8-minute long grind epic which gives the MCD a playing time of over twenty minutes. Add Ouroboros to the long list of emerging French death metal bands. - Ali "The Metallian"
