History & Biography
Yet another project: Former Iron Maiden singer Paul Di'Anno picked up Croatian musicians to form a new project called Warhorse in 2021. The act had a DVD single and played a free ‘thank-you’ show in Zagreb, Croatia on May 21st 2022. The man had been in Croatia to receive treatment for knee issues and lymphatic drainage. The Stop The War/The Doubt Within single was limited to 666 copies.

Paul Di'Anno's Warhorse released an EP called Stop The War through BraveWords Records in advance of a new full-length album in 2024. The name was updated and likely the result of a marketing decision. The debut Warhorse album was recorded in Croatia and the UK during 2022 and 2023 and was due in 2024. Paul Di’Anno lined up a mini-tour of the UK for August with Gypsy's Kiss, which was celebrating its 50th anniversary. Gypsy’s Kiss was co-founded by Iron Maiden's Steve Harris. Di'Anno had also announced the traditional "final" tour. This was qualified as a final tour playing a full set of Iron Maiden songs at smaller venues as other tours and concerts at larger halls accommodating the man's wheelchair, etc. would be considered. The band had a video for the song Here Comes The Night to support the album, which was slated for July 19th 2024. A limited edition of 333 came with signed cards. Paul Di'Anno and Bruce Dickinson met for the first time and had a friendly chat in Zagreb, Croatia on July 13, 2024. By coincidence, Bruce was promoting his The Mandrake Project on tour and Paul Di'Anno had a live promotion and signing session for his Paul Di'Anno's Warhorse project. Di'Anno died at home in Salisbury, England on 21.10.2024. He had been in ill health and had gone through a knee surgery thanks to crowdfunding, including by Cart & Horses pub in London, England where Maiden had played in the early days, and payments by Iron Maiden. Cause of death was announced to be a tear in the sac around the heart leading it to stop working. Di'Anno had performed seated in recent years as a result. A memorial show was to take place at Camden Underworld in London, England on November 7th 2024. Singers Guzz Colins (Electric Gypsy) and David Smith (Gypsy's Kiss) were to sing Paul's songs. Confirmed guests were Terry Wapram (ex-Iron Maiden) and Tino Troy (Praying Mantis).
