History & Biography
One of the many bands to hear a Metallica song and think it is a good idea to copy a song name, this Greece-based act came together in 1997 and issued several albums before going the way of Donald Trump’s real hair. George Rodopoulos of Power Crue was the singer for the band’s first year.

PHANTOM LORD - CIRCLE OF THE WASTED - BLACK LOTUS
As a reviewer one can either delve into a record and blabber until the reader tunes out, or if the record is boring - as with the new Phantom Lord CD - come out and simply say it. Greek quintet Phantom Lord (album photographs depict a quartet - someone apparently had enough sense to duck on cue) is a band trying hard to be heavy metal's answer to Yngwie Malmsteen. The singer wails to high heaven with the vocals often being doubled-up. The music is a cross between Malmsteen and Helloween. The ever-trendy and weak keyboards wank the affair to crap and to destroy any last vestige of respect the band additionally makes sure it adds a ballad here and a violin there. If anyone's heard a sadder joke than this all month, then please write in. - Ali "The Metallian"
