History & Biography
Possuído Pelo Cão (or P.P.C) is a crossover act from Brasília, the capital of Brazil, which was active between 2006 and 2013 initially. The sound was influenced by RDP and DRI. Members came from Violator, D.F.C. and Terror Revolucionário. The friends’ name translated into ‘Possessed By The Dog’ in English. The name became more relevant soon as the band commemorated the band Possessed. Members were singer Poney Ret, guitarists Novato and Barbosa, bassist Tulio Swanker and Tubaroes on drums (ex-Intoxicated) Former Violator guitarist Juan Lerda (Violator) left. Drummer Júlio César Baron took over circa 2011.

The Semen Churches demo of 2006 mimicked the artwork of Possessed’s Seven Churches and was named after priests and their altar boys. The ‘possessed’ theme carried over into the band’s full-length Possessed In The Circle Pit. It featured the demo tracks as well. The group was not active, but eventually recorded material for a split with Conquest For Death in 2012. It was released in 2013, which was the year the project ended. The band had a couple of gigs, however, including in 2019 and uploaded this one in 2021 The style was self-described as “full speed thrash core.” The band was heard on a compilation and a split, with Low Life, called The Return Of The Living Thrasher, but these were merely repackaged older tracks. Low Life was the other band of guitarist Novato. The band reunited for a benefit gig in Brasilia 2024.

The band’s ‘moshing man’ mascot was inspired by DRI’s, but carried horns.
