History & Biography The Illinois, USA-based heavy metal band with occult leanings (hence the band calling itself “dark power metal”) with a female singer and guitarist began its existence under other monickers. Crucible had also featured a female bassist. The band released a demo under the Equinox name in 1993. Powers Court was a 1996 demo. Its cover was inspired by Book of Kells, a Celtic manuscript from the ninth century. The band had changed its name to avoid confusion with other acts called Equinox. Rick Kramer was the drummer here. Drummer Gereman Meyer had already left.
The debut album was called Nine Kinds Of Hell and released through Dragonheart Records to which the band had signed for three albums over Sentinel Steel and Underground Symphony. In Dante’s literature hell had nine circles. Dragonheart was run by Enrico from the Italy-based band Domine and so Danie Powers was a guest on Domine’s Stormbringer Ruler - The Legend Of The Power Supreme album. Drummer Mike Evans departed after finding Jesus Christ. Danie herself was in a couple of accidents and mishaps, which delayed the work of the band. The Red Mist Of Endenmore was accompanied by a paperback of the same name written by Danie. The concept revolved around an evil landlord engaged in occult activity.
The band is named after the Powerscourt Estate in County Wicklow in eastern Ireland. According to the band, Danie Powers' ancestors were owners of the estate, which was originally a castle. The band was remastering its self-titled demo in 2009. Instead, the power was lost at the court.
