Reviews PROJECT: FAILING FLESH - A BEAUTIFUL SICKNESS - CANDLELIGHT
This chiefly American project seems to be in fact a full-fledged band. The core member of the band has recruited former Voivod singer and bassist Eric Forrest and bashed out an album riddled with metal, rock, industrial, goth and even a cover version of Venom's Warhead to boot. Forrest's voice sounds uncannily like the old Sacrifice times when Rob Urbinati used to belt out malice. The music, as mentioned, is all over the place and takes a perverse pleasure in being a composite in motion. The sound is pretty good, but whether fans will cozy up to this hodgepodge of different musical tones is another story. In the meanwhile, a second album is being put together. - Anna Tergel
