History & Biography
Psycho Motel, a reference to the Hitchcock movie Psycho in which the villain ran a motel, was the project of guitarist Smith while he was away from Iron Maiden. Psycho Motel was active between 1995 and 1999 when the six stringer returned to Iron Maiden.

The band was The Untouchables initially and featured former The Cult bassist Jamie Stewart. This man left and other changes occurred. Norwegian singer Hans-Olav Solli was added and the name change occurred. The debut was released in Japan in 1995 and in Europe in 1996. Solli was replaced after the European club tour due to the man’s divorce. The band also opened for Iron Maiden in the UK. Dave Murray of Iron Maiden is a guest on Welcome To The World.
