History & Biography
There is Pulmonary Fibrosis in the centre of France. It is a noisy and grinding band that, Agathocles aside, has single-handedly promoted the split release cottage industry since July of 1998. The founding members were Guyome and Renaud. The former man had been at the project since 1997. With a musical note crossed over as one symbol, the band is the sugar daddy of split release pressing plants, split release labels, split release lobbyists and the ward of the split release economic development agency of the European Union. Yes, some people also have inflamed and scarred lungs in the middle of France, but their number is negligible compared to the grinders' split releases. Indeed, the band's first release was a, what else, split release with, who else, Agathocles in 1998. Drummer Renaud switched to bass from drums in 2002.

The band with leftist leanings has several demos and full-lengths to its name as well. Singer Pascal committed suicide 2006 and did not see the release of Organ Maggots on which he had sung. Yanosh took his place immediately. The band toured Brazil in 2006. The act was at Obscene Extreme in 2008. The band was all over Europe, including Russia, in 2009. The artwork for the second album, Interstitial Lung Diseases, was drawn by Luisma of Haemorrhage. He also handled the artwork for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis. The band undertook the Mexican Lung Diseases Tour in 2011. The band also made it to Argentina and Chile. Yanosh missed several 2017 gigs and eventually left in 2018. Fred Quintus of GxOxRxEx had stepped in. This man would die back at home the day after a Canadian show. The band appeared at Earslaughter Fest 3 in Canada. A Cuban tour was cancelled, but the band did play in Colombia and Ecuador, etc. Guitarist Pierre De Palmas of Braindead zine came and went

France-based goregrinders Pulmonary Fibrosis and Germany-based Repulsive Feast had a split 7″ entitled Fetish Of Gore in 2025. It was a co-release by Gurgling Gore (USA), Lycanthropic Chants (GER), Grindfather Productions (UK), Grindhead Records (AUS) and ZAS Autoproduzioni. That means that it took five labels to release four songs, which reminds everyone that the band is also a patron of living-in-mom's-basement labels as well. The EP was about the serial killer Adolfo Constanzo. More recent members have been guitarists Samantha (Corporal Abuse) and Wlad.

The band calls itself pathological goregrind and goes by PxFx sometimes. Canadian man Jack Moose often mixes and masters the band's music. Guyome owns his own Cripple Room studio and manages Cataleptic Remains Productions, which among others, has worked with Agathocles. He has also released the band's own music.
