History & Biography The band story goes thus and it is absolutely all true: Former scientists Chris Trainor, Jordan McKenzie and Johnny Mejia were previously employed by Sub-atomic Weight Of Acceleration Research Mechanics or S.W.A.R.M. While working on a project involving particle collision the team inadvertently tore open a brief doorway to the mantis homeworld exposing themselves to a mind-altering pheromone in the process. Thus came the Chapter 1 demo in 2021. Jordan had messaged Chris Trainor solely due to the picture of the guitar in the latter man’s profile. Trainor ended up joining.
Tennessee, USA-based Quiescent Mantis had a song and lyric video for the song Shake The Cage in 2022. The band was compared to Killswitch Engage and Machine Head. The band had a new album, entitled Here Comes The Swarm, and music videos for Shake The Cage and Fight through Exitus Stratagem Records in July 2024. The band was compared to Orbit Culture, Havok and Power Trip now. The act had several 2024 gigs lined up including Knoxville Hardcore Fest, Michigan Metal Fest and Metal Devastation Fest. There was also a live video for the track This is The End. The video was from the band's Here Comes The Swarm hometown album release show at the Karns community center on July 19th, 2024 in Knoxville, TN. USA. Quiescent Mantis was booked to perform at Moshigan 2025, a first annual cancer benefit presented by Michigan Metal Fest.
