History & Biography
NWOBHM/AOR/glam metal band Rankelson (stylized as RanKelson) hailed from Wales and lasted for three years following inception in 1984. Several founding members, including guitarist Eddie Kelly, came from Polaris. As such, the band was a dual guitar formation at start. The band played London’s Marquee and opened for Rod Argent in 1985. Drummer Vincent left before the second album was released. Kerry Lovelock of Ashamata and formerly of Mammath took his stool. The band, as per rules of the metal scene, re-appeared with Jones, Wilson and Ranson in 2019. That is 32 years of absence. The band announced its participation at the HRH Sleaze IV festival in UK for 2020. Also playing were Michael Monroe, The Quireboys and Love/Hate.

Colin Sergeant died in 2007. Diabolic Might Records re-issued the debut in 2022.
